Rustic decor and artistry abounds at this one of a kind log cabin getaway on the shores of Lake Keowee. You will first be struck by the the hand carved alder wood front doors and the tree trunks carved by Mountain Dan around the lot. Walk across the wrap around sippin' porch and into the foyer. The slate floor depicts a mountain stream with trees carved into the stone. The main public area is dominated by a huge gas fireplace finished in local river rock and has a commanding 180 degree view of the main lake. The dining room chandelier is crafted from a Gatlin gun wheel with fishing scenes. The kitchen features architectural appliances fashioned to look like turn of the century models and the copper pots are not just for show. Currently the kitchen lacks a dishwasher, but we hope to install one soon. If outdoor cooking is in store, the stainless steel bar-b-que is more than up for the task. You will find a picnic table on the side porch and outdoor furniture on the main deck. The main level has a master bedroom overlooking the main lake and the cove and a full bath featuring a clawfoot bath.
The upper level bath has a balcony overlooking the lake and a two person jacuzzi which is always stocked with plenty of candles. The master bedroom features an antique canoe and also has a balcony overlooking the lake.
The lower level features a big screen TV and a couch that's been known to seat an entire extended family. The bedroom facing the lake features a hand-painted mural of tropical fish. The inner bedroom mural features some friendly bears. The pine cone bedroom is ideal for sleeping in. The full bath features a river rock shower, cedar walls and cedar cabinets. The sink tells the tale of sleeping beauty.
The dock has good swimming and fishing and the deck on shore has built in benches and a large serving table.
If you stayed here a week you might still not spot all of the special features, artistry and surprises.
